Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Retail AI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and safeguard your personal data when you use our website, dashboard, API, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Data We Collect

Account & Profile Data: When you register, we collect your name, email address, organization name, and billing details. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt/argon2); we never store plaintext passwords.
Uploaded Content: Images, videos, or files you upload for AI inference are stored in encrypted object storage (S3-compatible) to enable processing, result viewing, and historical analytics.
Usage & Telemetry: We collect API request logs, inference job metadata (status, timestamps, credit consumption), and dashboard interaction patterns to improve performance, detect abuse, and generate aggregate analytics.
Payment Data: We do not store credit card numbers. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (PayPal, Binance Pay). We retain transaction IDs, invoice records, and payment confirmation tokens for billing and tax compliance.
Communications: If you contact our support or sales teams, we retain the content of those communications to resolve issues and improve service quality.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: (a) provide, operate, and maintain the Services; (b) process AI inference jobs and deliver results; (c) manage your account, credits, and billing; (d) send transactional emails (verification, invoices, security alerts); (e) detect fraud, abuse, and security threats; (f) improve our AI models using anonymized, aggregated data; (g) comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

4. AI Model Training & Anonymization

We may use anonymized, de-identified image data to train and improve our proprietary computer-vision models. Before any training use, we strip all metadata that could identify the source organization, location, or individual. No personally identifiable information is included in training datasets. Enterprise customers may opt out of anonymized training data usage by contacting enterprise@retail-ai.shop.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For hosting, storage, and compute (e.g., AWS, MinIO, GPU cloud providers) under strict data-processing agreements.
  • Payment Processors: PayPal and Binance Pay to handle transactions securely.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, API key hashing (SHA-256), and regular security audits. Despite these measures, no internet transmission or storage system is 100% secure. You use the Services at your own risk and are responsible for securing your account credentials and API keys.

7. Data Retention

Uploaded images and inference results are retained for 90 days by default, after which they are automatically purged from primary storage. Aggregated analytics and billing records are retained for 7 years for tax and compliance purposes. You may request early deletion of your data at any time via the dashboard or by emailing support@retail-ai.shop. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.

8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use essential cookies strictly necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. JWT tokens are stored in httpOnly cookies for dashboard access. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may prevent you from logging in or using certain features.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) correct inaccurate or incomplete data; (c) request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”); (d) object to or restrict certain processing activities; (e) request data portability in a structured, machine-readable format; (f) withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing). To exercise these rights, contact support@retail-ai.shop.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection standards than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and encryption, to protect your data during international transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or service offerings. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the dashboard. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
